The forums are a place to talk about the game and make suggestions, and just talk about things in general. However, there are still some rules you must follow.
While the forums can be a place for useful, constructive conversation, they are not to be taken advantage of.
Bannable Offenses:
1. Spamming -
Repeatedly asking the same question, saying the same thing over and over, etc.
2. Trolling -
Advertising for another site out of context (in context is fine), making random posts, etc.
3. Backseat Modding -
Saying stuff like "Don't make me get a mod in here", and saying stuff like "Nice bump" to a troll. Telling a mod about a problem is fine, but do not start telling other people what to do yourself.
4. Flaming -
Making topics or posts entirely to "get back" at someone, or out of anger. If you are having a serious issue, and you want to report abuse, just PM a mod or me. If you are angry at someone, find a way to let them know calmly. Please, treat all other users with respect!
5. Foul Language -
Does this really need any explanation at all? Just don't do it.
6. Thread Hijacking -
Getting off topic in the thread, and talking about something entirely unrelated. Please, just make a new topic for it. This rule is not very strictly enforced, but we would prefer if you did not. If things get off topic, we may choose to simply close the thread.
7. Obscene Material -
If found posting any obscene material, you will automatically have your account deleted without any warning. If you see a post or get a PM that contains obscene material, please hit the report button, and an administrator or moderator will take care of this issue right away. You will not get in any trouble for reporting obscene material, and the user whose post your reported will have no idea that it was you. Even with private messages, we have the ability to moniter and make sure conversations are kept clean.
How to become a Forum Moderator
If you wish to become a moderator, you need to show maturity at all times, and use the forums often enough to be reliable. If you are mature enough, and we need another mod, while you yourself have zero control over the selection process, any current mods can nominate you, or individual users can also nominate you. If you spam-post in order to seem an active forum member, we will know. You will not become a mod, for a fact. If you have ever been banned, you can never get a moderator position.
Well, that pretty much sums up the basic rules here, I will be changing them from time to time. If you have any useful comments or suggestions, feel free to post them in an existing topic, or, if none exists for your subject, create your own. Please do not just create a new one just because you are too lazy to search the forums for an old one.
One last comment: Topics which are deemed to be useful to the general public of these forums will be "stickied", or stuck on the front page of a forum. Only mods & admins can sticky a topic. A topic will only be sticky if it contains important info posted by a mod or admin, or if it is helpful, no matter who has created it. Also, a mod or admin can close a topic, or make it impossible to post in it any more.
The last, most important rule of all, is to keep all content within the forum legal within the US.
Any illegal discussions will be punished severely.
